# Installation

Follow these steps to install the BedWars Setup on your server:

### Step 1: Download Server Jar

Download a 1.20.4 Paper-based server jar:

* **Recommended:** [Pufferfish](https://pufferfish.host/downloads)
* **Alternative:** [Paper](https://serverjars.com)

Place the jar in your server root directory.

### Step 2: Download Setup

Download the setup from the [resource page](https://builtbybit.com/resources/bedwars-setup-modern-minigame-series.74829/).

### Step 3: Extract

Unarchive the downloaded file to your computer.

### Step 4: Prepare Files

Open the **"SETUP FILES"** folder from the extracted content.

### Step 5: Archive

Archive (zip) the contents inside the "SETUP FILES" folder.

### Step 6: Upload & Extract

Upload the archived file to your online server host's home/root directory and unarchive it.

### Step 7: Install Required Plugins

Download and install the following plugins:

* **TAB** - [Download](https://github.com/NEZNAMY/TAB)
* **Citizens2** - [Download](https://ci.citizensnpcs.co/job/Citizens2/3382/)

Place them in the `plugins/` folder.

### Step 8: Start Server

Start the server with **Java 11** on **Paper 1.20.4** or a compatible fork (Pufferfish).

Once the server is running, proceed with the Configuration Guide.
