# Installation

Follow these steps to install the Modern EggWars Setup on your server:

### Step 1: Download

Download the setup from the [resource page](https://builtbybit.com/resources/eggwars-setup-modern-minigame-series.93809/).

### Step 2: Extract

Unarchive the downloaded file to your computer.

### Step 3: Prepare Files

Open the **"SETUP FILES"** folder from the extracted content.

### Step 4: Archive

Archive (zip) the contents inside the "SETUP FILES" folder.

### Step 5: Upload & Extract

Upload the archived file to your online server host's home/root directory and unarchive it.

### Step 6: Install Required Plugin

Download and install **MET-EggWars** from [here](https://builtbybit.com/resources/met-eggwars-like-popular-networks.92462/?ref=266894).

Place it in the `plugins/` folder.

⚠️ **Critical:** MET-EggWars is required for the setup to function properly.

### Step 7: Verify Server Version

⚠️ **Important:** Use **1.21.11**, NOT 1.21.1

### Step 8: Start Server

Start the server with **Java 21** on **Paper 1.21.11**, Purpur, or Leaf.

Verify all plugins load correctly on startup.

Once the server is running, proceed with the Configuration Guide.
